I ditched that 3 1/2" pipe nipple and used a 1" close nipple. The sending unit for the gauge points back and sits just above the oil filter. Idiot light sender points up.

1) Which high-temp Permatex did you use? 2) You drove it for a year with no leak ("had it last summer")? The Loctite I recommend does not 'dry', it is an anaerobic sealant that cures in the absence of air. Permatex 59235 is the equivalent but I can get Loctite easier. I would be surprised if either of these couldn't solve your problem.

All the comments on teflon tape. My experience....20 years in a coal fired power plant. We used teflon tape on everything. On pressure up to 1200#. Very damn few failures and those found were do to cleanliness.....

IIRC - the directions for the Permatex stated you should let it cure before use. At that point I figured that was my smoking gun as I was putting it together and then immediately driving it to test it. Also, I live in Wisconsin so I usually put it away in late September for the winter - so the car will sit for roughly 6 months. The Deacon sealant is $95 a pint so… will go with the $3 Indian Shellac and eliminate the 1/8 pipe.

What parts have you physically changed? There is only 1 brass T and the pipe nipple for the Rally Pack. Maybe one of the sending units is defective?????
Which joint shows leakage???
You have 4 possibilities, 5 if you count the fitting going into the block.

It’s not leaking at the T fitting, senders or upper part of the 1/8 pipe. It’s always leaking at the bottom of the 1/8 pipe where the adapter threads into the factory fitting. Maybe my 51 year old fitting on the block is bad…

What adapter?? The 1/8" pipe threads directly into the factory fitting. Can you post a picture of what you have?
