Very Nice. I have a 72 and have been trying to think along those lines. Now if I could figure out cup holders to go with it that would be awesome. Thanks for sharing might try that myself.

Hi Charles,
That little door just behind the shifter is a cup holder. It has a soft close latch, so you depress it about a 1/4" and release it, and it opens up. it has 3 cup holder spaces in it and a place to put loose change.

This is a great write-up. Dave was kind enough to show me his gorgeous car in person, and the console looks just as good as it does in the photos. I plan on copying what he's done, and now I could kick myself now for throwing away a Javelin console I had because the rear part (which would get discarded anyway) was broken.
