So I am not missing something..  I've read and watched a bunch about the front oil galley plugs behind the timing chain on V8s.   I'm in the process of changing the timing cover on the 360 in my 1972 Javelin AMX and I don't see any there.

At first I thought the guy who I had rebuild the bottom end years ago forgot them, but I see no mention of front galley plugs in the TSM for this year.  There's no sign of threads either so I am assuming this year did not have them.

Is that correct, or am I missing something (like galley plugs!)?

Thanks!

They're behind the timing gear.

I'm at TDC and the cam gear was blocking my view of them..  Nowwww I see 'em. Embarrassed  Thanks, Fluffy!

Guess what I was looking at are just openings that go between the cover and block (directly above the cam gear/ timing chain).

Mods, feel free to delete this, or just leave it up to remind me to look more carefully for stuff! Ouch

And the passenger side one requires a little special attention to detail.
Less than likely but possible, a too tall pipe plug there can block an oil passage.
There is more than one spec for pipe plugs, Dry Seal & Level Seal being two of them.
iirc the Level Seal Pipe Plug Type is shorter and works well in that passenger side hole.

Then on the drivers sides, some fellers have been known to, down inside there
going from the top galley hole in the valley, tapping the internal oil passage
and putting in an additional pipe plug drilled with a restrictor hole
to limit or control or meter oil volume delivered to the drivers side lifters.
