I have a 66 232 ambassador. Can I buy the 2 core radiator instead of 3 core. I just drive it weekends. All stock.

Without AC the 2 core should do the job. With AC the 3 core is a better choice. If it were me, I would buy the 3 core in either situation simply to have more cooling capacity in reserve.

My 62 station wagon has a 95 Explorer radiator, $25 at the pull a part yard.  I just came back from the Hot Rod Power Tour, 3400 miles no problem.  You will have to fabricate hoses as stock do not work.

We need some pics Nick! Why not start a new thread on installing the 95 Explorer radiator?

My 66 American convertible 4.0 has a Nissan Maxima radiator and dual electric fan system. The fans bolt to the radiator.  It only took a week with Nissan wiring diagrams to figure out how to power the 2 speed fans.

So how about sharing? A new topic "(year) Maxima Radiator and Fan in (year) American" with some pics and a description of what you did. I put a three core Jeep FSJ (74 J-10 HD cooling radiator) radiator in my 63 Classic and did the same. It's on the forum somewhere...
