My advice, for whatever it’s worth, is that you should try not to get hung up on this being the first event of the season. The month of May is definitely still pretty cool and rainy here in the Midwest. June is just starting to get warm and can still be wet. Obviously you can’t control the rain chances for any specific weekend, but your chances are that much better for nice weather then.

Edgewater Race Park is a nice facility. They often put on car shows along with racing but you’d have to check with them for open dates. I’m not sure if they have the space or facilities for camping on the grounds….again you’d have to check with them. The nearby town of Harrison, Ohio has restaurants and hotels and it’s right off I-74. And there’s plenty more as you get closer to Cincinnati.

You’ll need help I’m sure. Let me know if there’s anything I can do. I work full time but can set aside a day or weekend as needed.

Between the three choices Edgewater would be a great place to have it. I love going to Edgewater. However what ii may boil down to is available time slots and most important the overall cost to have the event.

For us to drive the extra 1-2 hours,I would like to see a 2 day event, depending on cost maybe a cruise/swap meet, car show first day at host hotel or the track.

Update on Great Amc Day 2022,
I can get London Dragway on any Friday in June, and can get US60 Raceway on any Friday or Saturday in June. My question for everyone is what date in June would be best, which track would have the better turnout and if it's us60 would people prefer a Saturday event. If so I was thinking of trying to plan a cruise in or so that Friday night to kickoff GAD.  All input needed and appreciated need the best turnout possible Thanks Damian

OK I'm going to suggest some thing, A track probably no ones ever heard of :Brown County Dragway in Beam Blossom, Indiana ! It is near as I can tell an independent mom and pop drag strip in pretty much the middle of no where. The reason I putting this out there and the reason I know about it is I joined the Studebaker club a number of years ago, and it seems a group of Studebaker club members have been holding a Studebaker and Orphan car drag race there for a number of years now. Problem was they were holding there meet on the same weekend as GAD was happening near Springfield , OHIO. AMCs Have been welcome to the meet BUT it was never advertised to any real extent far as I know. The only reason I know about it ,is that Turning Wheels the Studebaker Drivers club magazine covered the meet every year with an article on the meet. I'm betting that if nothing else you join up with the SDC race probably for little to nothing cost wise. Any just a thought I'll trow out there. web site for track is : https://www.browncounty.com/listings/brown-county-dragway/ LRDaum
