I did a search and the only complete "set" of 5 main bearings other then the AMC/Jeep 290-401 are the AMC 4.7l motor.
No GM, Ford or Mopar.
GM 396, 427, 454, 502 bearings look like they may be made to fit, all but the thrust bearing.
I have a call in to see what would be the cost to have old bearings refurbished with new Babbitt. I have several sets of old shells. I somehow doubt that that will be cost effective even if I machine them to size myself.
Thanks John for the offer. I may take you up on that when I get into these motors later this summer.

I used some Sealed Power bearings in .001 under and have these left over. Summit shows them in stock for ~$78.

King will still be supplying AMC parts. They just are waiting for resupply, along with everybody else.
My valve supplier is waiting to get there inventory back up for 40 plus different engines, including AMC.

Glad I'm a hoarder when it comes to parts, since this COVID thing is a nightmare.

Would be good if we could get some minus 40 mains again, maybe even sizes beyond that.

Maybe I'm just that old but we used to weld up and turn down, nitride and run with correct bearings. Put back in car go racing. Is there any reason to not do this now?

obviously money.  Welding up and grinding 5 mains would probably cost more than 5X as much as just grinding them.  Get a quote and let us know.

Usually it was only 6-8 rod journal, back then about $100 for all.
After several times I went to a 8 quart pan and had no more problems.
