I cannot figure out to remove the plastic knob on the end of the wiper cable, and one of the vent controls. The service manual says there is a clip holding it, but there is nothing. It's like it's molded to the end of the cable. I had to remove the cable from the wiper motor and the vent and pull the dahs with the cables still attached.

Anyone have any tricks?

Giving us the year and model will help! There are some variants over the years!

74 Hornet Hatchback X twins (since 1977)
62 American Convertible (still worth the $50 I spent in 1973!) AMCRC #513, AMO #384
70 AMX 360 4-speed (since 1981)

Naa, just put vice grips on the knob and give it a good yank; it will come off.  Yes, please let us know what model and year so we can help.

I could see what looked like a hole in the knob for a roll pin, but nothing on the other side. I even tried  running a 1/16" drill bit in there to clear the hole. I stopped before I got too far and destroyed the knob. I'll try the allen key.

Thank you!

I gave them a good lookover, and what I thought I thought may been been a hole, didn't do anything for me. I could fit a small pick in there, and push on it, but nothing moves.

The other knob shows no signs of having any sort of hole.
