Gremlin attended her first show today.

Car drove 45 minutes each way to the show. Didn't skip a beat.  I might have a slight vacuum leak somewhere, but I've got all the gaskets I need in stock.  I was surprised at how LIGHT the steering becomes at speed. The car has no power steering, but drives like it DOES when cruising 50-60 mph. Super light, very nice ride.  Not as quiet as I'd hoped with all the FatMat/Dynamat lining the roof and floor.  Still a fair bit of road noise.

The car drew more attention than my friends' Rebel Machine.  I was happy that 99% of the comments were POSITIVE. No more strange accusations that AMC stole engines, or Gremlins blew up when rear-ended.  A lot of people were digging on the cars' 8-track stereo and the promotional ephemera I'd strewn across the dash.

All in all, a much more positive experience than I'd previously had at this show.  Before the car was restored and many moons ago, I actually had some American dude in a Chevelle ask me straight up "Are you putting that piece of $#!T in the show?"

I think I got the last laugh today. LOL
