HELP!!!!

I drove my 62 classic il6 and the trans seemed ok

I pulled the engine swapped it for a Buick 215 swapped the bellhousing redrilled the 215s flexplate for the original torque converter but now I seem to have lost gears

EXCEPT when the weight is off the wheels .... then it selects all gears (but park doesn’t work but I don’t think that did before)

Trans fluid it Dexron 3 (ATF) and to the correct level the only thing that I’m not sure on is the tv cable adjustment

Woah, there's a lot going on there you're leaving out! Did you manage to swap a Buick aluminum v8 into a 62 Classic, using the Rambler torque tube Borg Warner T35 transmission?

Which bellhousing did you swap on? What was the donor?

You have a '215 flexplate, drilled for the Borg Warner torque converter?

The transmission cable is a critical item and must be adjusted right. The TSM tells how on the stock setup. I made my own linkage once. It's just a simple lever, you want the maximum stroke carb to match max stroke trans without binding.

What it doesn’t tell me is the length of the lever to push the cable

Has anyone got a picture showing this part with a measurement please

Yes the Buick 215 (rover v8 here in the UK) used the bellhousing from the rover transmission (bw35) which bolted straight to the rambler transmission
Rovers p5 and p6 use the same bw35 bellhousing

The rover 215 torque converter has a larger input shaft on the transmission so used the 196 torque converter and had to drill the flex plate to suit
