I installed a NOS set in my 64 Ambassador. Simple flat bar turn down on the front edge and mounts in original holes. The seat rails bolt on the flat stock abut 2” back.

That sounds like the set Andy gave me years ago when he was forced into retirement - in his late 70s or so.....
He pulled them off a shelf and said "recognize these"? Yeah. And he gave them to me. |

I have very long legs, and even my '63 Classic was always all the way back.
Check for an extra set of holes in the seat itself, some Rambler seats I had had an extra set. You can also tilt the seat back a bit by stacking washers onto the two front seat-mounting studs, between rail and seat tube. Even a few improves leg room I found. |
