More than likely one of the arms is bent slightly. As noted, I have that problem with one, but the trunnion will move, though it binds slightly. I can't move the trunnion directly by hand, but I can move it with the steering knuckle (upright) screwed in for a little leverage. Then it moves freely enough, but that one cap is a little loose in the arm, so I'll attempt to tighten the hole in the arm than of course will tack weld it. The inner arm mount really doesn't matter, whether bar or in the crossmember. Keeping the arms at the correct distance (at least very close to it) might if assembling the trunnion on the bench instead of with the arms in the car. Tom spells out how to check the arms for being bent on his site. I don't think mine are bad enough to bother with that, but you might want to.

We are stuck, this is the type of situation where the people on the forum have alot of trouble seeing my cars suspension parts properly, and there not working with it themselves.
I don't know for sure how the parts are supposed to go back together, and the possibilities are all guess work for me and the guys here on the forum since there's no details about this in the amc tsm's. It's a huge handicap for me to not have the metal in my hands is what one member here says, so at least take more pictures. I guess the pics I took sucked, they probably did. At this point I've done almost all of their suggestions, and the car is different from the one they have worked on. and it's a matter of weather or not it matters if the upper trunnion is supposed to be locked up when the spacers tightend or not, I could ensure the upper trunnion is loose by using a washer to fill the space between the spacer and the arm, a washer that wasn't there before, while the distance of the other end of the arms is almost identical to the other suspension not disassembled. With no Information to guide me on what will damage the suspension parts makes choices difficult. With no information to guide me ill have to make a choice of how to put it back together: making it look like the other side not disassembled, locking the upper trunnion by tightening the spacer. Or ensuring the spacer doesn't lock up the upper trunnion by including a washer between the spacer and upper arm that wasn't involved previously. Choices eh? There is one member here "Ramblage" who has said he has rebuilt his suspension, he was asking about info for better bushings, he says he has rebuilt his suspension before, and he has a early big car 10 series, like mine, so he migt have some info about how he chose to put his back tigether, I've sent him a pm asking about it, he hasn't answered yet, so I'm interested to see what he did.
