Good looking wagon! '86 is the only year with the NP128 case which has an open diff instead of the Viscous Coupler. Not a real big deal but in my opinion it is not as sure footed as the 129. I have an '86 also and swapped to the 129 for a little better winter performance. Enjoy that sweet bird!

I do believe so.

I have only owned 1 auto and it was in my '86. I removed it for a 4.0/AX-15 combo I have sitting in the garage.

I take that back, we inherited my father in laws '84 4dr sedan and it's an auto too.
