I purchased a property and this Jeep Willys came with it. What year is it and where can I find the serial number? I looked under the hood, in the door jams, but not the frame yet. Is there a number on the cab anywhere? Any and all info will be much appreciated.

1950 was the first year for the V shaped grille.  They did away with the flathead in 1953, so its a 50-52 .  The VIN tag on most Jeeps of that era were on the outside of the driver side frame rail, just behind the bumper.

Thank you Bob. I'll take a look on the frame rail and hopefully it's there. It'll make it easier to file for an abandon title. The vin should help me ID the engine and trans too. Thanks again

The flathead was a 134 cu-in 4 cylinder called the Go-Devil or L-134.  The only trans was a t-90/3 speed, yours is 4x4 (1st available in 1951), so it's a 51 or 52, the t-case is a Dana model 18.  The split windshield also says 50-53.  Of course I'm just going by your pics.  They were produced all the way to 1965, and it's very possible parts were swapped.  VIN could also be on the firewall, right near the master cylinder.

I didn't see it on the firewall but I'll take another look tomorrow. Thanks again.
