I have the following windshield wiper switches from later model AMC - meaning 73 and up, likely around 1980 or later.
One was in my Eagle - I suspect I put it in there to add delay wipers but that was over 12 years ago...

Can someone please look up the following windshield wiper switches and tell me years, application (Concord, Eagle, Jeep, Gremlin, whatever)

All are for delay wipers, all have AMC logo in the zinc housing so are absolutely AMC (made for AMC)

3741268 - I have only ONE of these, not the best, it's in my Eagle now. Long shaft with ground wire.

3665128 - have two of these. Long shaft, NO external ground wire yet one terminal does close to switch case indicating it grounded via dash or brass strip around the mounting neck. (similar to early Javelin switch ground method?)

5758904 - I have two of these. Short shaft, external ground wire (white) with lug for screw or bolt so obviously didn't ground through the neck to the dash but had a screw hold the wire to ground.

Need all information possible please!
Thanks in advance.

I found the following:

3665128: 1973 to at least 1980 series 01 (Hornet, Concord), 40 (Gremlin, Spirit), 30 (Spirit based AMX) for cars with intermittent windshield wipers (WIWW)

5758904: 1983 to 1985 Jeep JJ5, 6, 7, 8, Scrambler WIWW

3741268: Couldn't find in my parts books, but it did appear in the 1982 price list, but not the 1977 price list. There are some on ebay. One is described as for the 1985 to 1988 Eagle.

Well the 5758904 makes sense being Jeep - shorter shaft for perhaps a thinner dash spot for it, and a ground wire that went to a bolt or screw.

My Eagle is 82 is where the confusion comes in -
The troubleshooting in the books I have (and my 82 TSM is MISSING that page) says that when the wiper switch is in the OFF position (park) that terminals 1 is connected to 2 and 4 is connected to 5
HOWEVER later years, say about 84, the chart says OFF 1 is connected to 2 but 4 is NOT connected to 5
so obviously they made a change between 1980 and 1984 - but when? and what switch goes with what intermittent control box?

3665128 seems to have stopped around 1980 or so and the 3741268 picked up 82 or later...... but when and which governor or intermittent box goes with which..... I have two part numbers on those, too.
There was a change after 1980 - when is the puzzler and why?

Marco,
The original posts were about two years ago. I personally do not have the switch in question, but was helping identify it for billd.

At that time he had two of them You may want to send him a Private Message (PM) asking if he still has them.

I see you just joined a few minutes ago. Hopefully you can navigate the site to send billd a message.
