Do they make a 5x4 3/4 bolt pattern front hub for a 1973 AMX. Tried wheel adaptors but looks like poop. thanks.Thumbs Down

Not that I'm aware of.  Standard for all AMCs since the 60s was 5 on 4 1/2".  Ford and Mopar also used the 5 on 4 1/2 pattern, although some Fords had a smaller center hole.  You should be able to find wheels pretty easily.   5 on 4 3/4 was a GM pattern.

can you take them to a machine shop, pull all but one of the studs, weld the others up and re-drill them?

A machine shop may be able to re-drill the 5 on 4 3/4" pattern between the existing lugs.   You'd have to do them all.  If you leave 1 lug in place, it's 1/8" off center.  (1/4" diameter larger bolt CIRCLE, 1/8" radius).
