Yes, 640-700 with twin turbos. The turbos were staged, one feeding the other. It was also fuel injected -- they couldn't get the single turbo carbed version running good enough, but it produced 550 hp! More details than you can find on the Indy V-8s: https://worldpowersystems.com/AMC/Navarro-turbo-motor/index.html Pics of the complete Indy six: http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2013/02/700-hp-199-cu-in-amc-rambler-straight-6.html Photos of car with six during qualifying, 1969: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqLmLPH6PE0

I know someone who has the fuel injection from one of the Indy cars along with the rotating assembly crank, rods, and one of the the timing cover/ engine plates. If you are still wanting Indy parts I can reach out to him.

Probably Tom Jennings is who your are thinking of. Use the world power systems web address above and you should be able to get a hold of him. He is on this forum. However I think Tom sold a lot of the Navarro stuff he had some time ago. LRDaum

Larry, you are confusing this Indy V8 thread with the inline 6 Navarro thread.

Larry is probably just seeing the post I made with the photos and info on the Navarro six just 3-4 posts before his. I didn't go back and see why I made that post, someone must have mentioned or asked about the six.

This is just incrediable that not one but two exist. ( do you know if these were completely or partially restored?)Plus 3 motors. I assume that these are the only two cars made? Where are these located, would love to see them in person.

It looks like the blocks were from different castings.
This the casting number I've seen before for the Indy aluminum blocks.
This block only has "360" cast on the side.... And a different part number at the back of the block. Is this a regular "360" part number? |
