Looks good all nice and clean.  Afraid to do that to my car, probably wouldn't be much left...

Not a lot of progress to report. I started a new job last month and haven't had the time to for the bodywork that I had before. I am probably going to have a buddy of mine finish up the bodywork and paint it for me the way my schedule has been. I have been getting a lot of work done on parts & pieces of the car - restoring all the engine accessories and interior pieces, so it isn't sitting still at least.

Knowing it's your project and how you are, doesn't matter who does what - she's going to be one fine Gremlin when done, a real gem.
Nice progress, really.

BTW Kirkwood - thanks for the SEM Napa red tip. Your right, it's the perfect match for dark red 71 interiors.

Not a lot to to update. I've got the door hinges rebuilt and doors back on. Needs a little fine tuning on the body work, but I think I will get that finished up in the spring. This winter I'll get it on the rotisserie and remove the suspension for restoration, too.

I've got most of the interior done and ready to put in, and plan to get the engine/drivetrain ready this winter so I'll be putting it back together next spring. I've collected pretty much every part I need for it, including a lot of really nice NOS stuff, so I 'm pretty excited to get it back together.

Here is a little tutorial on black phosphating hardware. I'm replating all the fasteners on this car in their correct clear zinc/cad/black phosphate, the latter of which can be done at home.

First you need some solution from Palmetto Enterprises

A stainless steel pan and rubber tongs are needed. You heat the water to 200* then add the solution.

The hardware is glass beaded:

submerged for 10 minutes:

be sure to keep them parts moving around. This helps with spotting and makes sure they are coated on all sides.

when you pull them out of the solution spray them down with WD40 to keep from spotting.

I then wipe them down with a sean cloth and zip lock/label them for reassembly in the spring.

spent some quality time with the Gremlin today and got it mounted on the rotisserie and all the suspension dropped. I'm still making a lot of progress restoring parts & pieces of the car, so by the time it is painted it should basically be a matter of putting it back together.

That garage is way to clean to be in the middle of a restoration, is that Gremlin photoshopped in there?
