 does anybody know how to get the gear inside of a column out  it is a 72 matador it looks like it just snaps in place but i can nor get it to move needs replaced   thanks

get a TSM lots of small pieces to complicated to explane of the internet. not that complicated in real life, just lots of small pieces

Are you sure it’s the gear assy. and not the IGN. Switch?

My 70 street Javelin turns ok to start but when you release the key to run position it will not come back so it gets kind of ugly when motor starts.

I have not looked into this yet but was thinking it could be the switch…….I hope?

May look into it this weekend as I want to pull the dash so yanking the column cant be much more.

You have a spare starter drive do you? You might need one, or an armature if you don't fix that situation soon!

If you are talking about the sector gear in the top of the column that is turned by the ignition key assembly it just pops off with light pressure. 
Make mine big and bad --- green!

well it did pop off but it took more pressure then you would think  took i bent piece of heavy wire hooked it on backside  then whacked the wire with a wrench  to two hits but it came off  new gear on and everything works Clap  thanks for the help
