Trailer parking will be located in the northeast parking area of the Pitser Garrison Convention Center behind the Museum of East Texas. The parking area can be accessed on N Third St or from E Rhodes Ave.  You would exit the lot turning right onto Third St traveling south five blocks and enter the event area to the right on E Lufkin Ave (the route marked in green). To return after the event you will take Second St north four blocks, turn right on Paul, go one block and then left on Third, go one block back to the trailer parking area (the route marked in yellow).

The idea is being batted around for those that are staying overnight in Lufkin that we have a cruise over to Ray's Drive-In for dinner after the event.  Ray's has been in business since 1959 and still features car hops for those wanting to dine in their car for the authentic experience.  Inside, the restaurant is car themed and hosts the monthly Lufkin cruise-in on the first Saturday of the month.  They also now have a nice sized covered deck for outdoor dining overlooking the parking area where we would bringing in the Red, White & Blue.  To check them out just Google: Ray's Drive-In Lufkin.

Another point of interest for the event this year is that the set-up for the Lufkin Heritage Festival was tweaked to move the main stage entertainment a block north so that it lines up with our car show event to the east side of it.  Our AMC's will be in the foreground of the pictures and video taken to promote this event in the future.  Now who wouldn't want to be in on that Wink

Here is the registration form for the 2022 AMC Lone Star Regional/East Texas AMC Cruise-In.  Please complete and return to me at ratliffr@icloud.com as soon as possible or at least contact me with the info so we can get a head count established.  Let me know if you will require trailer parking as we must know how many we need to accommodate.  T-shirts may still be possible, but we need to have enough interest to proceed with an order.  We look forward to hearing from and seeing you soon!

10/6 Update: Thank you to an Eagle (get it?) eyed viewer I have now updated the event hours on the registration form below to the proper Noon registration to 5:00pm awards.  Thanks to Deb Clement for the heads up!

Ok folks, the combined AMC Lone Star Regional and East Texas AMC Cruise-In is scheduled to be held noon to 5:00pm October 22, 2022 in downtown Lufkin in conjunction with the Lufkin Heritage Festival.  So, this year in addition to our awesome AMC’s there will be multiple food trucks, live entertainment, artisan vendors, activities for the kids, our local downtown businesses and more culminating with a free “Selena Experience” concert at 6:00pm!

This is a big departure from our usual Lufkin event setting on the lawn.  Our Cruise-in will be located on the 200 block of E Lufkin Avenue on the south side of the Angelina County Courthouse square.  Bringing parts for swap/sale is encouraged, no fees.

Always remember, whether it is a trailered show car, a survivor original, a work in progress or even if it's not running or you think it's just too ugly, "Drive it, Drag it or Tow it!", all are welcome!  And we mean that.  Please, bring them out and share them, people really do want to see and appreciate your vehicle.  We have had folks come in from several surrounding states to participate and attend.  See if you can come and win the Long Distance award this year.

A little bit about our location.  Lufkin, TX has a population of over 35,000 and is a hub for East TX and the surrounding area, fairly centrally located between:

120 miles north on Hwy 59 of downtown Houston

85 miles south on Hwy 69 from downtown Tyler

175 miles south-east from downtown Dallas

165 miles east of Waco

125 miles east of College Station

120 miles south-west from downtown Shreveport, LA

160 miles west of Alexandria, LA

175 miles south of Texarkana, TX/AR

300 miles north-east of San Antonio

If there is enough interest we will have event t-shirts.  Please contact me ASAP and let me know if you are interested with quantity and sizes.  Pricing would tentatively be $15 for youth through adult XL and $2 additional for sizes XXL and up.

We look forward to seeing all our old friends and making new ones too.

Feel free to contact us with any questions: Reagan Ratliff: 936/225-0569 or ratliffr@icloud.com

or Tom Taylor: 713-249-2466 or amc.taylor1969@att.net
