The door windows in my 69 Javelin have never lined up correctly as they have been re-glued by a previous owner. I have read all of the posts on this forum and any others I could find.
I started with the passenger window as it was the farthest out of line. The back of the door glass always overlapped the chrome strip on the front of the rear glass. At the max forward adjustment it still overlapped, clearly re-glued too far back. When I pulled the glass I saw the front shoe protruded past the front edge of the glass. I figured I had found my problem. Since the shoes had been re-glued before I got it, I did not have old glue lines to use as markers. I pulled the shoes, cleaned everything and using the measurements in the other posts, I dry fitted the shoes to the glass. With the measurements from FuzzFace; On the dry fit , at those measurements, the end of the front shoe protrudes past the glass. Looks to be in the same position it was in the first place. In the thread http://theamcforum.com/FORUM/regluing-window-glass_topic19507.html It says "Yea channel past the end of glass is bad as I have never seen any like that." So I don't know if it supposed to be that far forward or not. If anyone has a picture of an original window with the original shoes in their original place I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Tom

I just had mine out and back in. I'll get a photo tonight. Yes my front was just past the glass on the bottom, but not past the glass (where its under your wood brace) overall as at least my glass went forward on the vertical a little before it went on the angle where it meets the roof line....

Is the AMX door glass different from the Javelin glass?

On the early cars, the door glass is different between Jav and AMX.
A discussion in that regard and replacement glass:

The front edge of the glass should protrude about as far ahead of the shoe as your glass is behind the shoe. Joe
