FSJunkie and others are right -- in fact just drive it. If it makes a bad noise, or flings oil/grease out the brake backing plate, OK fine.
Wheel bearings fail fairly slowly, they get louder and louder. Unless something is really extreme you'll get plenty of warning, probably months. I'm a huge fan of doing preventative maintenance, but there's no sense in doing work that doesn't need to be done. You might get another decade out of it before it dribbles or groans. Do tighten the hub nuts though. Stripped hubs suck. |

Can't say I don't like the sound of the consensus here. I'll check it over for anything obvious clean and paint it up and put it back in. I'll save tearing it apart for if I get around to rebuilding and installing the 70 390 I have, in which case I'll add a limited slip carrier to the diff. :)
