Put on new carb. Same Carter one . I took it for a drive and fluid came pouring out of tranny. If throttle cable wasn't right did it trash tranny that fast? 66 ambassador 232.

I doubt it.

Where did the fluid come from?

By where inspection plate is.  I put more fluid in now leaking out of pan gasket. I may try to tighten bolt. Isn't it right by muffler.......

Obviously the carburetor has nothing to do with the transmission beyond the throttle cable. It seems unlikely you would harm it enough in one day out of adjustment unless you were towing or something (anything is possible).

So what else changed? Was it parked for a long time since last driven? Cars go bad just sitting, like cake in the rain. Days? Months? Years?

Old transmissions leak, it's what they do. Are you sure it wasn't leaking before but you're parking it somewhere new? Transmission leaks always have a cause, even if that cause was age (hardening of the seals).

Also this belongs in the transmission section...

Read a bit further on that page... Jeep/Eagle is a SUB-forum. A few of the main forums (fora! lol) have subs...
