Next time it's convenient, do the simple tests below:

Go to the sender (or find the sender wire). Ground that wire (short the sensor to the chassit clean metal somewhere). THe gas gauge should go FULL/over full. If it does not the problem is "upstream" of that wire.

Run a wire between the gas tank itself, or the gauge body (the soldered fuel line is a good place) and clean chassis metal. See if the gauge works then.

Likewise with the temperature sender. Disconnect the wire, gauge goes to COLDEST. Ground/short to chassis and the gauge pegs HOTTEST. Simplest test possible. Doesn't really isolate the problem, but it definitely tests the sender/sensor and it's wire.

When doing the above tests start with the ignition key in the off position. Then ground the temp and or the fuel wire. Get in the car and turn the ignition key on and see if the gauges move toward full or hot within a couple of seconds. If they do then turn the key off. You don't want the gauges to stay in the extreme full/hot position for more than an second or two to avoid the chance of gauge damage or the needle getting stuck/jammed.

Have you replaced the 4 A gauge fuse with a new one?

Have you cleaned the contacts on the fuse panel that the fuse clips in to? Have you bent those contact in slightly so they grip the fuse tightly?

Have you verified that you have power coming to the fuse?

So did anyone determine that there was a low fuel warning system or not?

This will be long.  Others have already suggested some of what I will. You don't have a TSM so I have attached a picture of the connector and will explain where each wire goes.
With your gauge cluster removed you need to verify continuity in your main wires from the connector to:
- Black to ground.
- Green to power, the "Gauges" tab on the fuse panel. Verify that fuse and 12V with ignition switch on.
- Violet to water temp sender.
- Yellow to fuel sender.
- Blue to oil pressure sender.
Other wires:
- Brown w/tracer = right turn signal indicator.
- Orange = gauge cluster back lighting.  Adjusted by headlight switch.
- Yellow w/tracer = left turn signal indicator.
- White = high beam indicator.
- Black w/tracer goes to the ignition switch.  May also be, and probably is, another ground.
- Orange w/tracer goes to voltage regulator for "Alt" light.
Should be 11 wires.
I'm betting on the ground and/or fuse panel wire and fuse.
Also, sounds like maybe the gauge cluster has been removed and reinstalled a few times so make sure the connectors in the holders are installed and aligned correctly, making good contact.

UPDATE. It was a contact issue. The ground leg on the regulator was not making contact in its slot. Thanks everyone for the assistance. On another note,  does anyone know anything about the guy in California by the name of Greg Beyer?
