Is the thermostat on a 72 Javelin AMX bypass hose the same as the heater hose outside of the firewall?
Thanks!

I think the size is the same. The bypass hose is a formed hose so that it doesn't kink when hot. Bob tufcj

I don’t know if i understand the question.
But the thermostat bypass goes from the water pump (top) to the thermostat housing and the heater hose goes from the water pump (Right side) to the heater core.

NO. The bypass hose is molded like tufcj said. The heater hose at the firewall is common straight hose. The molded bypass hose is readily available at almost any parts store and probably Amazon. It was used on AMC v8s for roughly 25 years.

The thermostat bypass hose goes through the pump . On the right side of the pump there is a tube that a 5/8 hose is attached, that hose goes to a heat regulator that is attached to the firewall and a cable controls the heat. 5/8 hose goes to regulator then a bypass hose from regulator to heater core and then back to motor
