Been looking forward to rolling my sleeves up for this project for a while and now it’s happening. Since I’m waiting for the 68 Ambassador to get here I’ve decided to start tearing the Rebel apart. Been making decent progress so far. Pretty sure my car went to the Central Motor Company dealership in Alexandria, Virginia as a very faint sticker is still visible on the bumper. Glad to see it’s never left the Old Dominion! From what I can tell the car looks like it was last legally on the road in 1979 and has definitely not been running in nearly as long. The car was put in a barn and forgotten for quite some time, never parted out or restored even has a little gloss showing when you dust her off. Really wish they would have put a cover over it as I’ll be fighting/cutting the floor pan quite a bit. Is anyone familiar with the Alexandria dealership? If so I’d enjoy hearing about it. Not sure who originally purchased it but they sure had all the bells and whistles installed. I’d love to learn the history of the dealership and original owner but I have no idea where to begin to look for that info.
