This thread has gotten off topic and the political posts should be removed.
I am looking forward in helping to make the 2021 AMO event the biggest west coast show the AMC community has ever seen.

Agreed. Time to take care of ourselves and each other and be around for next AMO - work together. Spend the time on getting things done we wish we had time for in normal times.
Keep 2021 in focus! Make it a good one. AMO crew is taking advantage and spending the time improving the traveling trophies and adding space for more names - great idea! |

I give any thing after June 1st about a 50/50 chance. By then they hopefully should have 2/3rds of the US population vaccinated. But what I saw on BBC America world news last night is what disturbed me the most. Seems will take until 2023 to get the entire world vaccinated and those odd third world places are mostly where new version of covid-19 are coming from . And it is not the car clubs for the most part cancelling the car shows it is the venue , or the local and or state government that is cancelling big events. So, we are all just going to have to wait and see. I'd be very disappointed if Colorado and Kenosha get canceled again. LRDaum

Viruses mutate naturally, so the places that have screwed up vaccine deployment (ahem) will be as bad off as anywhere. It's a function of viral replication, and they way it works, the same mutations are as likely to appear here as there.
Large group events are gonna be problematic for 2021 I think, but I'd love to be wrong. We'll see how fast it can be ramped up. Hoping for the best. I'm doing more sports car TT type driving. We did one in October. ~30 cars, ~50 people. We usually all stay in one motel and beer+parking lot, but we kept that part diffused, so it was mainly driving, lunch and gas stops which are all manageable. I've been doing the routes. We're planning (...) a drive for May, same regime of no partying/hanging out, we did it OK last time, and given our !@#$_*%$#( desperation for driving! our! @#$%$#! cars! we'll adhere to whatever is necessary. The cohort is generally old enough to be Sufficiently Paranoid. Turns out an N95 mask is a good idea driving an open car through a burned landscape anyway. In the last 5, 6 years we've been routing around/through fires, now pandemic. The future's not all it was cracked up to be. Edited by tomj - Feb/09/2021 at 11:13pm |

I wonder if all of the indoor activities will be moved outdoors? Registration, Meetings and awards banquet.
We are hoping to bring our newest addition to the fleet. An all original 6000 mile 1972 AMX 401 car. |

As of the last I heard it is still on. As has been stated most anything could shut it down at the last minute.I think the newest AMO news letter should have more info.
