Afternoon everyone,
69 Javelin with drums all the way around.  My master cylinder appears to be leaking somewhere on the back where it connects to the brake booster.  Thinking I will replace it as it seems there are available replacement cylinders from any of the AMC vendors.  Has anyone used one of these new units?  Just wondering the quality or if I should just send my old one out for a rebuild somewhere (assuming its rebuildable).

Are the cylinders NEW or rebuilt units?

You should be fine with a name brand master. No guarantees, as I've had a new name brand one machined improperly (at the mount).
Be sure you bench bleed.
Also, you should take off the booster, if the MC has been leaking into it, and you should get that brake fluid out of there, or it will corrode your booster from the inside.

The ones on at least a few of the vendor sites say they are brand new and no core required

It seems pretty straightforward to remove the master cylinder, brake lines and booster if needed.  Any tricks or tips I need to look out for or is it fairly simple?

As I said, bench bleed the master according to instructions.
And, since it was leaking into the booster, take the booster off, and get the brake fluid out of there, so far as possible.
When you have the booster off, be sure to lubricate the bellcrank.
Then, bleed your brakes properly (that includes pulling that delicate little center pin out of the brake pressure differential switch on your firewall before bleeding. See the Technical Service Manual".
