Parramatta eh? I'm about 750 km's away. A place called Lismore (its a hole of a town). I'll have to fly down to Sydney and hire a car and drive if i want to check it out in person. Not the first time i've done that mind you lol

Yeah we all do some crazy things sometimes don't we.....
I just drove 14 hours to pick up some Hornet disc brakes for my American.
Probably could have freighted them down, but I wanted to be sure they were good and what I was paying for.

Righto time to post some photos of those brakes disks, I want to see what you've got. I'm sure that others will be interested too.

Hornet Discs...what year? if they are ventilated yes...if not...hmmm. Most aussie AMCers go for Matador ventilated Kelsey Hayes discs...cheaper for pads/pistons/seals etc  and they do stop better then any other discs on other AMCS ever used. Just my advice. Early discs (classics and early Hornets) were 4 piston Bendix type and ARE expensive and less reliable and not ventilated.

These are ventilated rotors, Kelsey Hayes calipers, single spot. The hornet was a 71 model, unsure if these belonged to that year though. I've pulled the calipers apart, apparantly they were overhauled, with new pistons used for a few months and then left on the car unused for a couple of years. The rotors do need machining as they've gone rusty, I've pulled the calipers down and they needed only a clean out and putting back together, ie good seals, slide rubbers, pistons, even the hard to get anti rattle spring clips are there, and the pads are like new. As for the flex hoses, not great they want $80 - $100 each to make them, but I sent a sample to my parts supplier and he has matched them up to a similar hose and they're about $40 each, although they dont have the steel extension but I'll try them to see how they fit, and I'll use a sleeve around the hose to secure a spring to keep them away from the wheel area, like an early holden use if I need to. I've trial fitted them up to my mags and they clear on the inside. All to do other than that is remove the residual pressure valve from the master cylinder.
Pictures coming.

Thanks, I hope things go well for the install. I gather that you will be using the booster too.
