I have a 71 Javelin without the vent pipe installed when gone through the assembly line. The gasket has a hole but the air box and motor don't have provisions for the rubber hose.

Is this normal, I have seen many factory air with them???

There's a good chance the motor was replaced with a non a/c fan motor.

I have the same thing on my 69 Rogue, factory A/C but no vent pipe etc, I am thinking might have been a dealer installed A/C.

there at least needs to be a drain hose from the evap under the dash. My daughter's Gran Cherokee hose once became pulled over the winter and the amount of water that collected on the evaporator was enough to put puddles in the floors behind the rear seats on one long trip in the summer's high humidity in the northeast. Unplugged the drain and never had the problem again.
