Thanks for documenting this build.  I experienced a similar problem with a paint shop, except they had mine two years, and several problems with machine shops( yes, plural).  I have now dragged the car around for 20 years without doing much.  This thread is a bit inspiring, as I have just started kicking the parts around the garage and thinking.  I may even start a thread to keep myself honest.

Thanks,
Billy

"All Wrapped Up"....
Since we had Linda's Javelin refurbished back in 2014, we have not driven it very much, and likewise we have not had it serviced very often....
Over the past 7 years, it has developed a few minor issues that we decided it was time to get taken care of....
Nothing major, just a couple of small Transmission Fluid leaks; one was around the Transmission Pan Gasket and the other was around the Speedometer Cable Adapter, going into the 727 TC....

So we are having the following done:

* New Transmission Pan, with Gasket (rubber type), and Filter....
* New O-Rings on the Speedometer Cable where it fits into the Adapter....
* Recharge the A/C Freon (Has not been charged since 2014)....
*Install the 62 amp Motorola Alternator
(that Bill Dickerson had built for us)....

The Shop that we are using, is very reputable, and the Javelin will be Stored inside the building during the repairs....
Also, as an added touch, the Shop uses a heavy clear plastic cover, as an added protection for all their customers' cars, which Linda really appreciates....

"Clean as a Baby's Bottom"....

We had a local Custom Car Shop perform a few miscellaneous "Springtime Services", on the Javelin, including something we have been wanting to have done for several years....

A professional de-greasing and power cleaning of the underside, which removed "Most" of the build-up "Grease 'n Grim", from nearly 47 years of being a...."Texas Road Warrior"....

Another of the recent "Spring Services" on the old Javelin, was the installation of a few "LED Bulbs, to brighten up the Dash Gages and the Weather Eye Control Panel....
Over the years (as Linda and I got Older), it seemed that these Lights kept getting....
"Dimmer & DimmerStern Smile", so it was time to "Brighten Things Up A Bit", with a few LED's....

Dickie, looks like you still have a bulb out between the gauge pod and the speedo. Make sure those socket and pcb contact surfaces are clean and snug.
Long time AMC fan. Ambassador 343, AMX 390, Hornet 360, Spirit 304 and Javelin 390. All but javelin bought new.
