Engine /trans pull

   I have a 77 Pacer with a 258/4 spd manual.
The motor needs to come out, and I'm debating whether to pull the trans and motor at once, or pull the trans first, or pull the motor and leave the trans in it. 
The motor sits a little under the firewall, and not sure it it can all come out at once. Has any one else
pulled a motor from a Pacer, and can give me the benefit of your experience?
