Are you asking a question or just letting us know? I have an inline pump for my efi Install and when it dies (kinda often) it only take about 5 mins to change out. I carry a spare in my tool bag.

Aeromotive and Holley both make retrofit in tank fuel pumps.  They require you to cut a 3.25" hole in your stock tank.  I bought an aftermarket tank for the AMX, and plan to put one or the other (haven't decided yet) in with my Pro-Flow IV.

asking a question. I was thinking of getting a fuel command.  model 40006 because as you said the inline pumps don't last long.

I put a Tanks Inc. Mustang FI tank in my American. I was going to use a Hydramat in my stock tank, but it wouldn’t save much money. A lot can be said about brand new and clean.

That's true if you're going to drive it much. They run to hot and burn up plus they're loud. The problem with those fuel commands is that you still need a stock fuel pump to be the transfer pump and the aftermarket ones are junk with one exception, the Robb MC pump but it's not cheap.
Here's one that we did on Wooster Kevin's Javelin using a Hyperfuel retrofit kit. We added a reservoir can to the pump to help keep it cool when the tank level gets low. The return line runs down to the bottom on the can.

RobbMC and Edelbrock also have versions of this.  I talked with Robb about theirs, and they indicated that it still burns up pumps if the reservoir is too close to a heat source (radiator or headers).

I'm also thinking about options for my Pro Flow 4, not sure what I'm going to do.  Likely either an in-tank pump or something like the Robb MC setup.

Not sure what pump is in the RobbMC tank, but I've been using this for my MPFI install on my Gremlin:

I bought the Bosch 044 from them too, to ensure I didn't get another counterfeit Bosch.

It needs room to mount, but I have really liked it. Has worked for a long time with the Bosch pump. If you put anything with fuel in it next to a header pipe, etc, you're asking for problems, with the pump and rubber seals, etc.

I've been thinking one of these has to fit an AMC tank.  Would be the cleanest way to go.

So by the time you buy this and his mechanical pump, you'll be in it for over $500. That's pretty pricey for a fuel pump setup.... Shocked
