Jeff started out as a teenager at Dick Clifton's on W. Broad St. A Glen Green '70 AMX came in on a trade around 1975, and was purchased by the Parts Manager (at the time, Don Tigger). That was the car that got Jeff interested in AMXs. I have owned that AMX since 1981! The Playboy Pink car was restored at the dealership, by Jeff and his co-workers in the early '80's. IIRC, he or one of them found that '72 in a junkyard. I spent a lot of time and money there when I was going to school in Columbus (as much as a married grad student dare spend), but not nearly enough. In 1981 he had a tall stack of NOS black rimblo wheels for $30 each (about $90 today). And then in '82 or so he had a whole rack of NOS T-10's for $300 each (about $900 today). I did get and keep one of the wheels. If only I had bought the whole stack....(I wouldn't still be married to a wonderful bride!) Edited by ramblinrev - Jan/21/2021 at 8:18pm |

The '69 Product Sales Information Kit came with records, filmstrips, and
these great 2-sided 16x24 posters, covering the various models and
their 'new' features or equipment. I can see about getting them
reproduced, if people are interested.

Got this on Facebook Marketplace, NOS dealer item from 1968 or 1969. It's a simple desk set/pen, from Sheaffer Pen, and very shiny black with bright logo and name (sorry for the poor photo...rather hard to photograph!) Now, if I just had an NOS Javelin to go with it! ![]() |

Hi,newbie here. I saw the Pink Jav back in 1984 in the garage while buying parts.I believe it was the parts mnv that told me,I know of one just as clean, but the lady is elderly and won't sell it. But we service it for her.I asked him if it was a green 74 to which he replied Yes. The car he spoke of belonged to my Grandmother on Westpark Ave in Cols. When she purchased ig,it, pretty sure her and Gramps traded they're Blue 55 Buick 2dr. Grandma sold the Javelin in 1985 with 19,000 miles for 2800 to someone around Grove city. Broke my heart! Lol Anyhow.just a little memory from back in the day. Jeff may very well remember the car.

I have a '70 AMX that was purchased used in 1972 from Duddie Ford in Westboro, Massachusetts. I was able to find the original owner a few years ago via the "owner identification card" (which has since been lost) that was found in the glove box many year ago. I contacted him and he verified that his AMX was, in fact, traded in for a Ford Pinto at Duddie Ford in Westboro, MA. He told me the car was purchased new in Portsmouth, Virginia, although I haven't been able to find any Rambler dealers in Portsmouth (I searched all available archived 1970 newspapers from Virginia looking for Rambler dealers, but only found two that were even close to Portsmouth - Williams Rambler and Ward Rambler). So unless I can find the Rambler dealer from Portsmouth, VA back in 1970, I plan to restore the Duddie ID and put in on the car. This isn't necessarily a bad thing as the Duddie ID was on the car for most of its life.
