Are all the lights out? gauges, radio, console, HVAC controls? there is a fuse, could also be the headlight switch if there is a bad contact on the rheostat.

Have not checked the grounds yet....and yes all of the lights are out so will try to check
the fuses also......have had it for over two years but had not driven it at night...so did not know the lights were out....I will do some more checking as soon as the  temp gets under  90 or so.... 97 plus as I write this....

No fun crawling around under a dash when the sweat is running into your eyes.........
I kept thinking I was going to sweat onto the butyl while installing my windshield last night!

Ground
Fuse
Switch/rheostat

are your best three shots.

Took the dash apart this morning and as if by magic the dash lights started working
....cleaned up the rheostat with some carb cleaner... just checked they are still
working.....so don't know what the problem was..but I would guess a dirty switch.....

Thanks for your help.....

It's also possible that by moving the dash to take things apart, a connection was made that wasn't being made or made well before.
"loose" something, or ground, or yeah, that switch moving and wiggling.
At least you know now it's something simple and not a totally broken or fried part.
