I’m definitely leaning toward the Bullet cam, but so far they haven’t replied to my cam info request.
I'm pretty sure that they are out of cam cores currently, like most everybody is. I doubt that you can get a cam for awhile. If you need a recommendation, call 662-893-5670. Ask for extension 105, Chris Padgett.

Yea, that’s fine. I’m only in the very early stages of this build anyways. I have a hard time getting a hold of a lot of companies by phone due to the hours I work, unfortunately.

They are on Central time zone, so an hour ahead of you.

First of all, the dyno runs listed were optimized with jetting changes. Those changes usually resulted in less than 5 horsepower difference from baseline. AFR data was included with every dyno run, and changes made as needed. Secondly, the engine was never run with an Edelbrock carburetor, so I'm not sure why you think it was. Thirdly, the engine was run with a Torker and 750 Holley. The Air Gap smoked it by 18 or 20 hp at 5500. Your results may vary.

AirGap vs. Torker

3000 rpm, AirGap +13HP
3500 rpm, AirGap +28HP
4000 rpm, AirGap +24HP
5000 rpm, AirGap +29HP
5500 rpm, AirGap +12HP

5200 rpm, AirGap +37HP which is the max. in difference

Thanks. I couldn't remember what the difference was.  I just knew that in this one particular case at least, that the Air Gap was better than the Torker. I'm not saying that it is or isn't on any other engine.

If you just put a hydraulic roller cam in it you can get everything you want and more from the engine. Other than the cost (your planning on buying Edelbrock heads, so why not) a roller cam is the only way to go in an engine today.

I agree with that. My engine shop here won't use hydraulic flat tappets anymore. Too much chance of a wipeout.

We’re talking the difference between $300 and $1300 lol

Money is always a consideration. I took a chance on the cheaper version. So far, so good.

I definitely did consider a hydraulic roller cam, but I came to my own conclusion that isn’t worth the extra cost with what I’m trying to do. If I wanted to go more extreme I probably would.
