After looking on the forum and searching the web , I was looking for some help on a shift kit or whatever I would need to get my BW Automatic to shift a little crisper . It was rebuilt two years ago and work well.
Shift from second to third needs to be a might firmer though . Hope someone out there has a clue !!

Shift kit for a 50 year old BW? Don't think so.

11B should pretty much have the factory shift kit, there were some upgrades along the way. You can wind up the vacuum modulator a bit and that's probably about as good as it gets. B&M had a shift kit in the late 60's/early 70's, but all knowledge of what was in it has been lost with the passing of time.

As Western Red indicated the M-11B received the valve body upgrades that were included in the shift improvement kit that AMC released in mid year of 68. He's absolutely correct to advise that you simply crank in the vacuum modulator adjustment a few turns at a time to get the shift firmness you desire. This will also move up the shift points at partial throttle. You'll know if you go too far as the shift points will be too high to be comfortable. I would suggest starting with 3 full turns clockwise. You'll need a very thin and short screwdriver so you'll be able to clear the cross member and to get inside the vacuum modulator neck.
You'll be pleased with the outcome but you'll notice a light clunk when shifting into reverse at idle or when the transmission downshifts back to first when slowing down for a stop. This is normal at the increased pressure but the knowledge that the transmission is slipping a lot less during upshifts should make you happy
Long time AMC fan. Ambassador 343, AMX 390, Hornet 360, Spirit 304 and Javelin 390. All but javelin bought new.

You can call it sarcastic, rude , whatever. I call it being realistic. AMC was never a crowd favorite like the big 3. Companies that invest R&D time and money don't see a future in a trans that met it's demise by the 72 domestic model year.
Then there's the age of the people that did this work back in the day. I'm coming close to 70 and watching people younger than me get planted. Despite the effort, were not here forever. How old were these guys that did the work back in the late 60' s/ early 70's?
