Put the car back to drag race specs this week and had a great day at out local Nostalgia Drags on Sunday taking home the runner up trophy in the US Muscle class: This is the first run of the day, went up against this Nova again in the final, cut a 0.020 light here: Timeslip from the final for the record, this was my worst reaction time of the day, cracked under the pressure obviously: |

Great Job!
I love the seating in the hillside, nice atmosphere but probably best to bring a cushion lol

Usually a good idea to bring a chair if you are sitting on the terraces otherwise a blanket or cushion works. The plastic chair section on the far side of the track is “Gold Class”, it’s awful packed in like sardines on those hard chairs and you have to pay extra for the privilege. Overall it’s a great venue, has a dirt track speedway oval adjacent to the drag strip that is similarly laid out.

Maybe a second battery all the way to the right rear for more traction. Your 250 lbs shows up in your measuring as a left side bias.

Last weekend was the first time I've run the car at an ANDRA championship round (Aussie version of NHRA). 3 qualifying runs at 11.538, 11.587 (wheel spin) & 11.550, with reaction times of 0.156, 0.142 & 0.178 First elimination, the other guy had a nap at the lights (0.534 reaction time), so I managed to get the win with a lazy 0.248 reaction time and did run 11.543 on an 11.540 dial in. Second round was as far as it went, -0.019 red light then to make matters worse broke out as well with 11.460 on an 11.530 dial in, need to pay more attention to the conditions obviously. The other car ran 10.062 on a 10.050 dial in with a 0.059 reaction time, so I would have had my work cut out anyway. I was happy to achieve my goal for this one of not getting knocked out in the first round. Was a bloody long day qualifying runs at 10.30, 12.10 and 15.00, eliminations at 16.20 and 18.30, reckon I might take a camp bed next time so that I can have a nap between rounds. Couple of pictures for the record" |
