Had a good night out this week, not just in terms of track prep, but also good ambient conditions with a D/A on the last run getting down 321 ft.

Besides the third run which was a bit of a dud off the line and also shifting straight from 1st to 3rd, the runs were pretty consistent for me, really need to work on those reaction times though. The  last run was a PB for 60' 330' and 660' but fell away a little after that.

The only significant change to the car was fitting some Opentracker Delrin strut rod bushes:

I did add some finishing touches to the battery relocation so that it's all nice and compliant:

I also managed to wire up my line lock, which has been in the car since the start, but I'd never got around to wiring it up until now.

First update for the new year, building a seat mounting frame:

For the new race seat:

The seat is probably overkill for my current needs, but I also a BMW circuit track day car and have a vague plan to shared it between cars.

One of my goals for the year is to get the Gremlin compliant for our ANDRA Super Street class for next season (2021/22), this is dial your own handicap racing with a 10.0-13.0 ET second range. Not too much required really, adding a 4 point harness and a driveshaft loop are the main ones as far as I know. The seat isn't really necessary, but will certainly help with using a harness in the car. Did knock 10kg off the weight compared to the factory seat, which is something I guess. The driving position with the non-recline factory seat was also terrible, whoever added the buckets installed the drivers seat hard up against the door.

Well just to update here, new Viking hybrid coilovers installed up front as per the other thread on the subject:

But now we have a slight break in proceedings:

Nothing a couple of weeks waiting for parts won't fix, then we can get back to tuning the front suspension.

We've just had a week of COVID lockdown lockdown, so I managed to get one little job done. I lashed out and bought myself a cheap universal driveshaft loop on eBay a couple of weeks ago:

Of course it was never going to just bolt in as supplied, so after some size reduction:

And a few new holes drilled through the floor:

Hopefully it is one step closer to being ANDRA (Aussie version of NHRA) compliant, driveshaft loops are required on cars running faster than 13 seconds:

Yes, we have to run mufflers for what I'm doing, 3" pipes and straight through mufflers though.
