There would have been an AMI tag on the spring tower with the build number on it J9-XXX and also a small tag spot welded to the top of the spring tower with something like TKxxxxx on it. The door tag just confirms that it is an AMI car. Quite common for the tags to be missing after 50 odd years.

Only 50 built that year, one other in NS that we have a record of.
I've finally given up drinking for good...........now I only drink for evil.

That's them, looks like another missing one found. That would make it #5 off the line. The TK number is some sort of US factory identifier, but they didn't necessarily assemble them in order down here so the numbers don't always run in sequence.

I've finally given up drinking for good...........now I only drink for evil.

Got the alamosa 390 AMX registered on road today. 
Good to drive to a servo and fill the tank instead of from a jerry can.

In USA left side drive cars the V8 engines are off center toward the right side to make more room for the steering gear. In AUS cars with right side drive are the engines offset toward the left side or are they still offset to the right as in USA cars?
