I am missing many pieces to this grill and it is mostly an experiment to see if it can be fixed without spending a lot of money. The center aluminum connector I made. I have found the center mounting bracket< but I also found I could make one also. The four other mounting tabs have been difficult to find and I am in the prosses of making them.

terrible picture but the rivet on the left is an used original one. Its next to a new 1/8 rivet. A 1/8 rivet is .125  the original one is .150 and the holes in the grill frame are bigger yet. Not sure what I want to do about rivets but I think the 1/8 rivets are to small, need to do some experimenting I guess. Anybody have a good picture of the back of a nice grill they could post?

For repairing sections of a metal mesh grille screen I’d invest in a <$200 spot welder and buy the mesh that’s as close as possible in diameter and I believe it can be done. It would still be far cheaper than having it done by someone else or trying to find one in better shape. You might be able to buy a trashed grille for cheap but that you could take the small sections from to repair this one.

It looks like he has the right diameter wire, from the images. I did the same long ago in my old thread on doing repairs, mostly making bad parts good again, but not oem correct with finish.

The big issue is that the trim rings... if missing or broken, they are not usually found for sale.

This is a dry run of putting all the frame pieces together. Not sure if I am done with screen repairs or not. The two main frame pieces had been powder coated black and painted with a flat silver paint, looked bad. This may look to nice and shiny. they were fine sanded and polished. Finding the backer for the AMX emblem has been problematic. Ether a piece of junk or way expensive. What you see is a piece of wood cut to similar size, prototype. Thinking of cutting them out of aluminum in the future. Will need better dimensions to do that though.  Will need to spray a lite coat of paint to see how the wire looks.

Referring to the emblem backing plate, is this piece from Amark what you’re looking for?

It is what I have looked for. Did not find it in my previous searches. Thanks.
