Maybe so.  But unless I want to install a 3rd Gen Hemi or a (heaven forbid) LS something in my Machine, I think I am stuck with a "mildly modified antique" that has a problem with swill.

Even better when these mildly modified antiques are faster than a new Hellcat.

For a minute there I thought you were joking, as a near 800hp Hellcat sounded like a tough ask for a 500-600hp AMC to beat, then I checked how heavy a Hellcat is (Curb weight: 4654 lb) and realised you weren`t joking. LOL

Looks like us eulogising him in the other post has forced Rick into revealing his latest piece of AMC jewellery Clap

I am attempting a build myself and the "haynes manual" Rick gives us is a big help for those of us who haven`t built one before.

Well, they might be more than "mildly modified" but they are all street legal.

"Well, they might be more than "mildly modified" but they are all street legal."
There you go. He didn't say whether he's comparing engines to engines or cars to cars. Power to weight ratio is everything and AMC's are light cars. It's hard to beat modern engine performance so "mildly modified" vintage iron takes more to get it there. It can be done no doubt but it's not for the faint of wallet. I was just poking some fun at that comment. No harm intended. Wink

Exactly!
My build is planning on smoking a Hellcat in straight lines and through the corners!
