My apologies for the lateness in getting this posted, we've had some family health issues and a million fires going since June's ETCI show in Lufkin.  It's time to start planning your fall AMC activities and what better way than to mark your calendar for the 2017 AMC Lone Star Regional to be on September 23rd from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with registration from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., at 2 North Main Street #20, Temple TX, 76501.  This is City Hall and the event will be held in the parking lot and adjacent streets of the City of Temple Texas Municipal Building.  You can Google the address and then click on Maps just under the search bar to check out the location.

This is a family friendly event open to all AMC, Rambler, Jeep, Nash, Hudson vehicles through 1988 in any condition.  This is a show and shine event with awards including Best Project, Long Distance (traveled by participant to the event), Participant's Choice, People's Choice and more.  No harsh judging.  For those of you who missed out on the East TX AMC Cruise-In back on June 10th in Lufkin, here's your second chance for the year to come out and have a great time with the Texas AMC community, see old friends, meet new friends and make great new contacts in the AMC community.  Participation in Houston was great last year and we are looking forward to seeing our Central, Southern and Northern TX AMC family this year.  There are to be multiple food trucks for your lunch and snack selections and the downtown location is sure to afford great community attendance.  A little more Temple info from Temple resident Billy Threet:
Our host hotel is located just off the city's main intersection of South 31st Street and South West H.K. Dodgen Loop 363, Country Inn & Suites, 1414 SW HK Dodgen Loop, Temple, TX 76504, phone 254/778-6700. The four corners of that intersection have the Temple Mall, an HEB, A CVS pharmacy, and Baylor Scott and White hospital. All are walking distance from the listed hotels. About two dozen restaurants and a Walmart are within a mile of this location. It is the heart of the city. The event venue is about 3 miles away.

If trailering to the event I would suggest contacting the hotel in advance for their parking instructions and/or checking with Billy Threet for alternative trailer parking suggestions.

This is a free event.  Event t-shirt info will follow shortly.  For more information on the event site and the town of Temple, please contact Billy Threet at 254-899-5472, bthreetldh@yahoo.com or Tom Taylor 713-249-2466, ttaylor18@cameron.slb.com.  I'm including the show flyer, so please print some off or pass along the link to this page to share the information.  Be sure to come out and support the last American independent.  Here is a link to last year's event posting with some pictures:

Thanks and we hope to see you all there,
Reagan

Heads up folks, here is the registration form for the 2017 Lone Star Regional (sorry, phone image to email to computer was the best I could do to get it on here).   For a PDF or Word version just e-mail me at ratliffr@centralisd.com
T-shirt design pics will be coming soon, but don't delay in getting your order in so we have a good count on the number we need to have made.  We are shooting for $15 adult small through XL and $17 for XXL and up each.  T-shirts will be paid for when you pick them up at the event, so please bring exact change to aid in this process.
Thanks,
Reagan

Picked up The Rambler from the muffler shop today. Exhaust looks good. I am satisfied.

Getting all shined up for the 500 mile trip to Temple. Looks as if the weather is going to be great.

We will be arriving Friday about 5 or 6 pm and staying at the LaQuinta Inn. Anyone up for dinner?

Hope we have a big turn out.

Ollie

Just a quick note of thanks to all who came out and made for a great AMC day in downtown Temple, TX!  Thanks to Bill Threet for working with the City of Temple to secure our location, Tom Taylor and Ted Davis for working the registration and ballots all day and bringing the raffle prizes and awards.  Thanks also to all those who donated additional prizes.  I know that Raymon Hacking donated Snap-On merchandise, and I know a couple others donated some items, but I'm sorry I don't have the names.  Thanks also to all those who attended bringing parts for sale or swap.  I saw quite a bit of exchange going on there.  All had an enjoyable time and fellowship with our extended AMC family and I saw a lot of local folks bringing their families through to check out the 28 vehicles present.  I'll get some more event pics up soon.
