I think I posted about this before, but with additional progress thought I'd start a new thread.
When I rebuilt my motor I started with a Holley 600 Electric Choke, vacuum secondaries - never had an issue but thought it might be time to upgrade. I set the Holley Sniper on there for a little motivation.. I did have to remove the factory fuel pump - a BBC block off plate works just fine. First steps included cleaning up some of the vacuum lines I also installed a throttle return kit and you can see the beginning of my fuel system with the fuel pressure gauge O2 Sensor Installed right after the y-pipe Fuel pump and filters hiding behind the cancer :D I will be remaking this plate and boxing it in so it cannot be seen and is protected from the elements. First time powering up Fuel pressure at the throttle body :) Electric Fans installed All wiring buttoned up and everything tucked away - the goal was for it to not be obvious that it was anything other than stock unless you knew what you were looking for. And my other dying breed vehicle.. finally got it's ugly WI Hobbyist plate :D I have tracked all of my progression on YouTube: Here is the video with the first start: And I also did a video covering costs and thoughts that I have after the install: If you do take the time to watch my videos, if you would also take the time to like and subscribe, it helps to keep me motivated to make additional videos. Let me know if anyone has any questions!

Nice build!
Have you had any trouble with the intake exhaust crossover causing excessive heat or running problems with the EFI? Ive not gotten my EFI yet but am wanting to do this swap like you did. I was considering blocking off my intake exhaust crossover passage but unsure what method would work best. I've seen where guys use a thin patch of sheet metal to block the passage, but with no reports of it working or not. Others have welded them up on the head side of the port but that method looks much more difficult. |
