Nice work so far. I also just finished all the brakes and suspension and got all four of my wheels back on the ground for the first time in over a year.

I'm going back with the dark blue. I may try to go a little darker, but not really changing it much.

If you want to see a nice Plum 74 Javelin look at Linda Tower's car, Dickie has a library of great pics of her car. You might have to go back a few pages to look at his project in this section, but last I remember, it was listed under "What A Mess!" as the title, but I think he changed the title after completion.
Went back and looked, Dickie retitled it "Every Car Has A Story", it is a very good project to read through and worth your time. Edited by hitman33dp - Nov/15/2016 at 2:07pm |

Working on rebuilding hinges. Using spare ones I had because the ones that were on the car were in bad shape.

This is one of the old hinges, you can see the cut into the hinge from the bar grinding into it all these years. The other one had the roller broken off of it and I can't get the old pin out that the roller was on.

The old plastic bushings are definitely due to be replaced.

I am at this point right now reconditioning a clutch/brake pedal set for my Eagle. I've cleaned up the bushings for reuse. What would I get if I actually had to replace these?

Those are actually brass bushings APD has them. Also there is a great thread about using cam followers instead of the standard roller. I did that with my hinges and it makes a big difference, so much smoother door action. Buster |
