I don't but there's a thread on here somewhere about someone using Mustang tailpipes. What year I don't remember.

Big weekend for Javelin (and me) with the alternator fixing the charging problem, the fenders going on and cluster work. I even gave it a bath since it was pretty dirty. Then I had to put the pretty wheels on the front. All of the new light sockets came in so I'll be able to put those in before I get to far. I'm even replacing the ones in the rear as well. Kevin blasted the latch support and hood hinges today so I have those to paint. It keeps getting better by the week! I bought one of the new lenses from Javelin Julie's friend that has them on eBay. Makes it looks brand new. This one looks and fits the original. Much better than the last guy that made them. Well worth the money IMO. I also installed a quartz clock that my friend DMack sent to me. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to save the original finish on the dash face. I have a hunch the car was smoked in back when it was new because the face was literally brown. I managed to get it clean but the aluminum had started corroding in places and when I tried to remove it, it took off the printed crosshatch pattern that was original to the base model cars. I was pretty bummed about it because it looks so cool. I couldn't find anything like it so I went with a brushed aluminum vinyl wrap. Finding one I like was a process in itself since most of them are more gray looking. The stuff I finally ended up with has the look that I wanted. It doesn't look it in the picture, but it's a bright silver. I also got some killer looking 3D silver carbon fiber from the same place but since the brushed looked good, I'll sell the other stuff or find a use for it. Here's a picture of it before and you can see how yellow it is and the brown spots are corrosion. And here's what it'll look like. |

It DOES look good. Is that a heat wrap process or a wet and stick vinyl? My factory "burled walnut" overlay has an extra hole put in by a previous owner. I wouldn't mind doing something different than the wood grain since I'll have to redo it anyway.

Thanks. It's a wrap so you use heat to tighten it up. This is my first attempt at doing this. I had to peel off the first one because some dirt got behind it. The second try is going well so far. It's hard to do because it's so thin and bendable. All the videos all had something ridged they were working with.
I forgot to take a picture of the door panel insert. It came out good. I think it would be cool to run this down the metal trim strip inserts on the dash and door, but I'll let the next owner decide that.

Thanks Bruce. We can make that happen in a month or so! It's going to find a new home so it could be your home. I'll even drive it up for you.

Thanks for the response, Keith. I just ordered some 3M black carbon fiber wrap for my dash and console. Not sure what to do with the big fake plastic wood pieces on the door panels yet.

What I did on Hemilina was find some worn out AMX inserts to use since they're flat. All that blue carbon fiber I did was hydro printed. Not wrapped.
