Build sheet on my car was on the passenger side taped on the weather barrier. Could be any where like driver side, or under rear seat or under carpet. Be very careful. They crumble easy or at least tare if between springs.

No way! That's cool that we have close cousins. Big smile

When I have some time, I'll upload some more pictures of it. I discovered tonight that behind the window sticker in the frame is the bill of sale! Shocked  That answers a few questions for me now. I talked with the guy I go it from and he going to get me the contact information of the family that had it, so maybe I can get some more background on it. I'm thinking that the car was in stock on the lot from the BoS. I'll try and get them up tomorrow.

I have a base model 71 Javelin. My car was equipped with a 258 6-cylinder auto. It had a column shift, no tilt, vacuum wipers, am radio. It was manual steering, manual brakes, 4 wheel drums. It had the same embossed seats, embossed door inserts. There were no stainless drip rail moldings or door top moldings. The rocker panels were factory blacked out. No wheel well molding, the only trim was around the windshield and rear window. The dash panel was the same as yours. The original color is mustard yellow. You have a unique vehicle, there were few compared to the SST model. I have not seen but a couple at the AMO national meet. If you can keep it original it would be a great car. I haven't seen any as heavily optioned as yours. Good luck with your project.  One other distinct piece on this car is the grab handle delete trim on the dash.

Thanks for the pictures and reply MD Racer. After reading your post I went out and looked and the rockers were white on mine but I do have electric wipers. Do you know what your build date is? Mine is 12/70. Yes, those grab handle delete pieces are pretty cool. It took me years to find the set I have in my 73. I just don't like the looks of the grab handle. That Mustard Yellow color keeps growing on me and I'm not a Yellow fan. LOL

In the first post, I replaced the window sticker with a scanned version so you can read it better and added a picture of the BoS along with some more pictures.

The build date on this car is 11-70. I have the original window sticker for my car. The total for options on the car was $310.15, $69.00 transportation charge and a total selling price of $3258.15. The 258 engine option was $49.95, shift command column shift $223.30 and light group $36.90.

Can someone tell me if floor shift was standard on a Javelin? And does anybody know what was in the "Visibility Group"? Still figuring this car out. Thanks.

Not sure exactly but I think the 71 base never had the console floor shift as an option as to keep it mbasic.

I think the non remote sports mirror is part of the visability group. Maybe the tinted windshield is too.

My 71 SST did not have sports mirror, tinted windshield and tinted windows options with my A/C.

Like yours it had interesting options but mine was lacking some of the better options one could have.

I think the 71 vinyl top and pin stripe was a bit much for an almost basic SST. In comparison two opposite ends of the spectrum for such cars.

I think for early builds that are to go to the dealer, the factory added some nicer options to get public interest. Since mine was late, the factory pumped out low cost basics in all models, with special orders being built. As It would explain why my car sat so long on the dealer lot. Not enough of the better and more standard options to make an easy sell. Vacuum wipers and no power steering kills the enjoyment of buying a new build for the 80s experience IMO.

The console was a stand alone option on the Base and SST Javelin, standard on Jav/AMX. Auto on the column was not available with the 401 in any Javelin, but was the std shifter on Javelin Base and SST when auto was ordered with any engine except 401.

The Visibility Group consisted of the Convenience Group plus electric wipers and washers. The Convenience Group consisted of remote control driver outside mirror, visor vanity mirror, and clock. The clock was std on Jav/AMX.
