70 Z bar install

Can i remove or install the z bar without removing the mounting bracket bolted to the bell housing . Any tricks or tips.

The only thing I can think of would be to remove the 2 engine mount to frame nuts on the driver's side and see if you can tilt the engine up enough.  But that seems like a lot more trouble than removing the bell housing bracket and might cause other issues.

Why do you not want to remove the bell housing bracket?

Installing new headers and was trying mount the bracket to bell housing so once headers are in i can install the z bar without trying to mount that bracket with headers in . Very tight then

So know one has responded, I'll provide experience from one installation.
1. hate headers!
2. unbolt the Z-bar bracket from the bell and stove wire everything up to the master cylinder , booster bracket ...
3. install the headers and gasket if used, with 4 long bolts loosely in place to locate the headers
4. re-attach the Z-bar
5 install the header

The loosely attached header should give you the room to install the Z-bar.
