Just had my front end rebuilt and aligned. Really never had it out to test drive before that. It seems really stiff in the front. It does track well but when I hit a bump it seems pretty solid. Can any one else tell  me if that is normal?   390 automatic car new KYB  shocks also.

So, don't overinflate the tires....AMC recommended something like 24 psi back in the day. I put 28 in mine.
Also, did you use polyurethane bushings? Those will make it feel a bit more harsh.

Some folks have reported harsh ride quality with KYB's. Not sure exactly which model of KYB. Poly will also add to harshness.

i had kyb gas-a-just shocks on the sc and it drove exactly as you described.
sold them and replaced w/kyb excel-g, more of an oem shock and it was
a much better ride.

I have a go pack car and had KYB gas shocks on it decades ago when I drove it.  I also had the Larry Mitchell sway bars, and it was slightly lowered- about an inch.  I thought it was awesome. Yes, not a smooth cushy ride, but if you want that, pick up a 2000 Crown Victoria LOL

I bought a new 70 AMX, and still own it. It is a Go Pack car and it has always had extremely stiff ride. A 1984 Z-51 Corvette is worse though.
