I probably went about this all the wrong way, but I got the Powermaster 10si equivalent for my '63 Classic.  It's currently mounted with a universal mounting kit, which, on top of the alternator already being bigger than the generator, the kit raised it up even more so the top mount/tension pivot is conflicting with the radiator hose, and the stock slotted bracket is a hair too short.

Has anyone gotten a 10si on the big car before?  Would you mind sharing some pics of your mounting solutions?

Thanks,
Jeremy

Because the alt is fatter, it klunks against the block with most of the lower mounting bracket kits.

The trick is to extend the lower mount, horizontally, so that the alt pivot bolt is further away from the block, rather than trying to mess with the slotted top brace.

I weld my own brackets. I've never seen a commercial one that solves this problem.

Threw in the towel and got one of those alternators that look like a generator. Even if I got the brackets worked out, the alt fan blades would have been too close to the rad hose for comfort.
