Went yesterday, sans car due to poor wx forecast (and nowhere to park my other car which is currently occupying my enclosed trailer).
Picked up many parts I needed for a while and some I've been holding off on for too long. Thanks to ALL the folks who brought stuff and set up great displays of parts for sale. Got to see some amazing reproduction grilles, NOS parts and so many great used offerings by good AMCers willing to sell at very fair prices. Spent my entire $ budget, then spent more on my CC with Jeff Kennedy and saved even more on the shipping of several large items.

The handful of cars I did see were super nice rides!

Wish I could've brought my car, and stayed longer. Maybe next year.

Made it to the show on Saturday. Weather cooperated and turnout was pretty good. I would estimate 100 or so cars. The Team Highball Spirit was the star of the show, at least for me. Speaking to Dennis Shaw about his early racing days (1970) was very cool. Nice variety of cars, just one Nash but it was a beauty. Very impressed by a pair of American restomods! This was my second show put on by the Carolina AMO chapter and both were well done.

IIRC the final count was 122 cars, with five having to cancel at the last minute for various personal resaons (would have been 127!). All in all it was a great turn-out, especially with the threatening rain (luckily we only got a few sprinkles Thursday and Friday!) and the fact that we were competing with the Kenosha Homecoming in a month (July 22-27). Some people had to chose between the two shows, and Kenosha won out!

Great team effort on Carolina AMC's part! The last time we hosted the AMO Nationals was 2014 in Charleston, SC, and had 100 cars. In contrast, there were 144 cars last year at Knoxville.

This year's Greenville AMO was my 6th AMO meet and was definitely a good one.  Dennis Shaw is a national AMC treasure, and having him and the Spirit there was amazing.

Very glad I made the trip down.  Was my first time as a vendor, and that went well too, even with Friday's rain.

The host hotel was first class, and having official support from Michelin and the city of Greenville was impressive. For some reason BMW opted out despite having a 3-letter corporate name. Seemed logical to me.....lol.

Like Frank mentioned, 122 cars is a darn good count, especially considering Kenosha is only a month away.  Perhaps too there is some regional inertia with 3 national conventions in a row (Knoxville/Petersburg/Greenville) all being in the southeast US.  Having next year's convention in South Bend Indiana is a good move, and is not so far from the SE to be a major hindrance for some making the drive.

IMHO, the far west (like Nevada/Utah/Oregon - not Denver, Not Phoenix, as they've been recruited enough) needs to host a convention soon or AMO risks alienating half the country's membership.

Phoenix might be good so we can get a taste of dry heat in the Summer for a change.

Um, I wouldn't plan anything in Phoenix in June.  You'd just be going out of the sauna and into the blast furnace.  Flagstaff makes some sense though, being that it's at 6,800 feet elevation. At 5 p.m. today, for example, it was 109F in Phoenix and 84 in Flagstaff.  We do have a summer monsoon season, but it typically doesn't start until end of June or early July.

It was a joke. I have experienced Summer heat in the Southwest. It was rather muggy in Greenville at the show.

I never take you too seriously, Alex. Smile

I used to travel frequently to Mexico, right on the Sea of Cortez.  It was pretty much unbearable for both heat and humidity in the summer, but the winters made up for it.

Just made it home yesterday from my 5 1/2 week trip which included the show in Greenville, SC. IMO the national show is always great. The people are great and the laughs and stories don't stop all week. Some beautiful cars, some great parts and some fun cruises. Kudos to the host club and everyone that made it a success!

This years trip totaled 8044 miles :O
